Biotope

For this work, I used kitchen waste as substance and kept it in boxes. The moisture of the food materials creates the environment for growing fungi and mycelium. It became a small ecosystem for the living microorganisms, fungus beetles.
The space is created for nurturing fungi with materials like food waste and other organic matter to create a view of the decomposition processes.
These 18 spaces are continually mutating and they get consumed by biological beings – insect and critters. The individual spaces are designed as host spaces for their living organism where they can sustain and germinate.
Medium: Moisture, Material: Kitchen waste, Size: 6’’/6.5’’ each
